thorupART was established in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2005 by Hanne Thorup with the purpose of bringing contemporary art from the developing world to different and varying locations in Europe.
thorupART does not have a fixed exhibition space and each new exhibition takes place in a new space. By popular demand we have opened a showroom in Charlottenlund in Copenhagen where it is possible to view paintings, drawings and prints by appointment. Hanne Thorup is a Cultural Sociologist, born in Denmark who has lived and worked in Africa for more than twenty years. She presently lives in Denmark. Tine Thorup holds a BA and MA degree in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and Slade School of Art in London respectively, as well as an MA in Anthropology of Art and Visual Culture from UCL, London. |
